Welcome to the 60s! Beehives and doo wop have made the 1950s seriously uncool. In Baltimore, big-haired, boisterous Tracy Turnblad dreams of dancing on the hit TV program “The Corny Collins Show” and falling in love with the dreamy Link Larkin. When her African-American friends help her to win a place on the show, she discovers there are darker forces working to keep her and her new friends from experiencing all the privileges that white, beautiful and thin people enjoy.
